Re-thinking the Citizen-Government Interface PDF Print E-mail

RealGov is about improving the way local governments and the citizens they serve work together toward creative solutions. The core of the technical part of this solution is the wiki, a platform where groups can work collaboratively on planning and documents. The social part of the solution depends on citizens taking initiative where they live, using the platform and what they put in it to explore and report on what their local government is doing, how it's doing it, and how it can be made more responsive to ideas and needs of the community as a whole.

We are in the process of building templates to help guide our user, and we will work with those users to identify needs and handy tools for making RealGov community sites into vital resource areas that educate and facilitate citizen understanding of local politics and how to get things done in an era where time can money can't be wasted. We recognize an urgent need for more effective local self-governance and we're intent on helping to build a technical platform that can address that need. We hope you'll join us in this pioneering effort.
